What we do with your details.
Plain English, and short, because the whole point of it is that you read it. If anything here is unclear, ring us and ask.

Under UK data protection law we are the “controller” for the information described below, which means we are the ones responsible for it.
What we collect, and only when you give it to us
If you fill in the enquiry form
- Your name, phone number and e-mail address.
- Your postcode, and what the job is.
- Whatever you write in the description box.
- Optionally, how soon you need it and what kind of property it is.
- The fact that you ticked the consent box, the exact wording you were shown, and when.
Nothing on this website collects anything about you unless you give it to us or allow it on the cookie banner. There is no embedded review widget and no third-party font.
If you allow cookies
The cookie banner asks about two things, and you can say yes to either, both or neither. Allow all says yes to both, No thanks says no to both, and Choose lets you pick. Nothing is ticked until you tick it.
- Measurement. We load Google Analytics, which sets cookies and records things like which pages you looked at, what brought you here and roughly where in the country you are. It also notes when you tap our phone number, our WhatsApp link or send an enquiry, but never what you say.
- Advertising. If we run Google adverts, this lets Google tell us which advert led to an enquiry, so we pay for the adverts that work. It is never used to show you adverts around the internet. It only works together with measurement.
If you say no, those things are never loaded. You can change your mind at any time using the Cookies link at the bottom of any page, and saying no later removes the cookies they set.
The only thing stored before you choose is nothing at all. Once you have chosen, we keep a record of that choice in your own browser so we stop asking.
Why we hold it, and what allows us to
- To answer your enquiry and price the job. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you give by ticking the box, and you can withdraw it at any time.
- To measure how the site is used. Consent again, given through the cookie banner.
- To see which of our adverts work. Consent, given separately through the cookie banner.
We do not send marketing, we do not build a profile of you, and we never sell or pass your details to anyone for their own use.
Where it goes
An enquiry becomes an e-mail to us. There is no customer database behind this website — the e-mail is the record, which means the list of places your details reach is short and we can say exactly what it is:
- Resend delivers the two e-mails: the one to us, and the copy to you.
- postcodes.io, a free public service run on Ordnance Survey open data, turns your postcode into a location so we can tell whether you are inside the area we cover. Only the postcode is sent, never your name or contact details, and if that service is unavailable we work it out from a list we hold ourselves.
- Vercel hosts the site and keeps ordinary server logs.
- Google, for Google Analytics and Google Ads, and only for what you allowed. You can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
These are all suppliers acting on our instructions, under contracts that limit them to doing what we ask. Some of them are based outside the UK. Where your details are processed outside the UK, that happens under the transfer safeguards UK data protection law requires — in practice either an adequacy decision covering the country concerned, or standard contractual terms with the UK addendum. If you want to know which applies to a particular supplier, ask and we will tell you.
How long we keep it
Your enquiry stays in our mailbox. We keep it while we are dealing with the job and for six years afterwards, because heating work carries guarantees and we need to be able to look back at what was done.
If you would rather we deleted it sooner, ask, and we will.
What you can ask us to do
You have the right to ask us for a copy of what we hold, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict what we do with it, or to object. Where you gave consent you can withdraw it at any time, and doing so does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it.
Ask by e-mail or on the phone. We will not charge you and we will come back to you within a month.
If you are not happy with how we have handled it you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would rather you came to us first, but it is your right either way.
